Psalms and Lyrics

I was once called a Psalmist..( or prophesied over, sometimes not sure which) When I asked the sweet man who prayed this over me what he meant, he said he saw in me a heart like David...full of music and lyrics...and seeing my Savior and my Life (which are one and the same) through those eyes. Music has always been a big part of my life, from as early as I can remember, dancing around my living room to records ( I think they were Purple Rain, and Paradise)..And I so clearly remember listening to songs in elementary school and being affected deeply by them ( Dog and Butterfly, by Heart in particular..yes weird, I know)

The biggest influence is Jesus music. I use that to sum up whatever you want to call it, praise, worship, hymns, sacred music.. "secular" music that the Big Guy upstairs uses how He wants anyway... and I remember really worshipping for the first time, it was like a light came on. Whoa. God speaks to my heart through music, no mistake.

I say all that to sort of explain why I quote songs so much. I don't need to reinvent a wheel, someone else summed it up for me. So the other day, I stumbled upon this song..yes yes, its from the Hunger Games...that isn't why I love it. It literally haunts me. It makes me cry. I love it.
I don't know how they will use it in the movie, and I don't care. I think this song is a picture of how I feel ... As a Mother, and even more so , a single Mom, I wish I could protect my babies from the things that are of this world. Not so. At 2 1/2 they have been through more than most of us... and because we live in such a fallen world, there is only more to come.

I can see myself singing this over them, and God singing this over me..us.

I remember tears streaming down your face
When I said, I’ll never let you go
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, Don’t leave me here alone
But all that’s dead and gone and passed tonight

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You’ll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound

Don’t you dare look out your window darling
Everything’s on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby
Even when music’s gone
Gone

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You’ll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound

I remember tears streaming down your face

When I said, I’ll never let you go
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, Don’t leave me here alone
But all that’s dead and gone and passed tonight

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You’ll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound

Don’t you dare look out your window darling
Everything’s on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby
Even when music’s gone
Gone

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You’ll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound

What they've been up to..

Playing is "intents" :) ( yes, I did)

Big boy beds and Tents..

So, today is big boy bed day. Makes me kind of sad, really. Where did my babies go? And WHO do these toddlers belong to? I mean, really..come get them. Seriously, my boys are so big, so into everything. My house will never be clutter free, again. (wait, that implies it was before kids)

So the cribs are in the garage, going to sell one and keep one. You know, in case one day, in the future... And they are upstairs in big boy beds. Playing. And talking. Not sleeping. AT ALL.

What I've been up to...

Last weekend I had the chance to go to on girl's weekend with my best friend Jen, her sister Kristi and my good friend Danna. We didn't all know each other well, I didn't know Kristi, they didn't know Danna, but it was such a good group, a good mesh. I think we all enjoyed each others company, and much hilarity ensued :) We went to Mentone, Alabama to a house that some sweet friends of mine from church own, and it is one of my favorite places to unplug. Friday night we played some "Just Dance" on the Wii ( still the reigning champ, just saying) Saturday we walked around DeSoto Falls and then went to Fort Payne Alabama ( Merry Christmas, tonight) and saw a movie for $4.50! We decided it was so cheap they couldn't afford to light the theaters or a decent bathroom, but, hey, you get what you pay for!!! It was a really good time for us busy Moms to recharge our batteries.

I originally uploaded LOTS of pictures, but the images took up too much space. So here are a couple!
